14. (Problem Solving)
Temperature
Temperature
- The temperature
of an object is how hot or cold it is. - It is either measured in degrees Celsius (°C) or in Kelvin (K).
- To convert from degrees Celsius to Kelvin, add 273: 10°C = 283K.
- To convert from Kelvin to degrees Celsius, subtract 273: 300K = 27°C.
- If
appears in a formula by itself, then you must use Kelvin in that formula.
Temperature Change
- Temperature changes or temperature differences are both represented by
, which is equal to . - It is either measured in Celsius degrees (C°) or in Kelvin (K).
- Celsius degrees and Kelvin are equivalent: 10C° = 10K.
- If
appears in a formula, you may use either Celsius degrees or Kelvin in that formula.
